Welcome to the Pitch-In.
We're a group of fans that want to use the power of fandom to help the writers and actors on strike picket that much longer.

What's the Pitch-In?

So glad you asked! The Pitch-In is a Fanart 4 Donations Fundraiser, where people can donate a minimum of $2 (people can donate more if they wish to) and receive a fanart doodle of their favorite character from one of our participating artists. Not only that, but abisalli on Tumblr has been kind enough to give us permission to use their Emotion Challenge to add an extra bit of fun to the fanart requests! (Alt Text available upon request.)

Now, what makes a doodle? Well, that's going to differ from fan artist to fan artist! It could be full body, it could be a bust drawing. It could be line art, it could be a sketch. It could be full color, it could be black and white. It could be an adorable little chibi! You won't know until you see the final result. But what matters is that the artist will be spending about 2 hours on this doodle, and they're going to put in effort and love. These are gifts for donating to charity, after all!Artist Sign Up has officially closed!

Where can I donate and make a doodle request?

We've set up a Tiltify to accept donations! You can click on the link below and it will take you to our fundraiser site! Once there, click on the REWARDS button, select FANART DOODLE, and it will automatically take you to a page where the minimum is set to $2. There, we kindly ask that you leave the following information: Your email address, your name (it doesn't have to be your real one), a social media to tag you on our Tumblr/Twitter, the character you want drawn + the fandom they are from, and the letter and number from abisalli's Emotion Challenge above. The reason why we decided to go with Tiltify is because this donation site guarantees that we as the hosts of Pitch-In will not touch a single cent of your donation. It will go straight on over to the charity at the time of the donation! We are accepting donations and requests from Friday August 11th, starting at 1pm ET, and will continue to take donations and requests for a week after we start. All of us are super excited to do this! Please note that we will only be taking one request per person - duplicate emails will not be accepted.

What is Pitch-In raising money for?

Glad you asked! The writers of WGA went on strike starting May 2, 2023, and have been picketing ever since for several reasons, but to name a few: They want fair pay they've been getting denied since the advent of Streaming Services, they want to be paid on time, and they want to be assured that their jobs will not be replaced with AI. So far, the millionaire and billionaire corporate heads are refusing to cooperate and come to the table to negotiate. Not only that, but they've done things to make it dangerous for the strikers to picket. They've blocked off sidewalks, leaving only thin strips where people can fall into open traffic. They took advantage of Neutral Gate laws, declaring most of their gates Neutral, and thus unions are unable to picket there - again leaving them with only areas that are too close to open traffic. They've even illegally cut trees to get rid of valuable shade in the dangerous summer heat in a blatant and obvious intent to try to force them to stop.A direct quote from the Insider: '"The endgame is to allow things to drag on until union members start losing their apartments and losing their houses," one unnamed studio executive told the entertainment publication.'Actors of SAG-AFTRA stand in solidarity with them, refusing to work on sets until the corporations come to the table, and Los Angeles City even stands with them. Both writers and actors are striking and picketing peacefully, and when they have time are doing their best to find work that isn't tied directly to the studios or corporations. They need help, though - as we all know, rent is costly, and groceries these days are insanely expensive. What the writers and actors are asking is to donate to the Entertainment Community Fund: it's a Charity Organization that helps those in their line of business find work, housing, pay their bills, and even get food on their table. We, in Picket Line Pitch-In, are raising money to donate directly to this fund!
